Ischgl Parish Church

The first mention of a St Nicholas Chapel in Ischgl dates from 1443. The present church was rebuilt in 1755. Its interior is impressive, featuring magnificent Rococo altars and ornate stucco work – a tranquil contrast to the lively après-ski atmosphere next door. The cemetery, with its ornately wrought grave crosses, is also well worth a visit.

Lake Schwarzwasser

Lake Schwarzwasser lies at 1,743 metres above sea level and is the exact opposite of what its name suggests (Schwarz means black in German): turquoise, crystal-clear, and framed by mountain ridges. It’s just a 5-minute walk from the Silvretta cable car’s middle station to the lake – minimal effort, spectacular views. In summer, it attracts fishing enthusiasts, families, and anyone who simply wants to sit there for a while and marvel at the Tyrolean mountains.

Vider Truja Adventure Park

The adventure park is situated on Mt Idalp at 2,320 metres above sea level and can be reached in just a few minutes from the Silvretta cable car’s mountain station. Bouldering towers, a Kneipp facility, trampolines, slacklines, a sand play area, and two natural ponds with a raft make it a top-class family destination – free of charge, at Alpine altitude, and with a barbecue area.

Paznaun High Route

131km, 11,000 metres of elevation gain, 9 stages: the Paznaun High Route runs through the entire region, from See via Kappl and Ischgl to Galtür. During your holiday in Ischgl, each stage can be tackled individually, and each one shows a different side of Paznaun: Alpine meadows, larch forests, mountain lakes, high-Alpine flora and fauna. Once you’ve started, you won’t stop until you’ve walked all 9 sections.

Kitzloch Suspension Bridge

The Kitzloch Bridge is 117 metres long and around 70 metres high at its highest point. It spans the Kitzloch Gorge above the Fimbabach river and forms part of the adventure trail from Ischgl to Mt Idalp. A magnificent view and an adrenaline rush are guaranteed. Anyone who’s afraid of heights will find their courage put to the test here. Those who are not afraid will want to go over it again straight away.

Mathon Parish Church

In 1674, the people of Mathon began building the church, which was consecrated on 20 June 1682 by the Prince-Bishop of Chur in honour of Saints Sebastian and Rochus, the patron saints against the plague. This church in the tranquil hamlet of Mathon is a quiet, rarely visited place, and that’s precisely what makes it so charming. A destination for anyone who wants to discover Ischgl away from the slopes.

Lake Berglisee

Lake Berglisee, situated at an elevation of 2,115 metres, above the hamlet of Mathon in Ischgl, is considered one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Tyrol.
